Strengths

RCB holds a solid core team. From the past 3 seasons, they constantly hold a good position to make it to the playoffs. Banglore has a good mix of spin and pace ( availability is a concern) with a good bowling depth.

RCB holds a great batting from the start but now they provide it depth with multi-dimensional T20 cricketers like Hasaranga, Harshal and Shahbaz.

Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj handle the RCB pace bowling department and their backups Reece Topley, David Willey and Siddharth Kaul – are also in good form. Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga form a good spin-bowling core, with Karn Sharma as a reserve.

Weaknesses

RCB does not have an opener who can attack from ball 1. Both Virat Kohli and Faf du plessis take their time to settle. Finn Allen can attack from ball 1 but he is not experienced enough yet to become first choice ahead of the current core.

Besides the open they also lack a quality number at 5 position. Suyash Prabhudessai and Mahipal Lomror will compete for this position.

Glenn Maxwell’s injury could be a grave threat to the RCB. Maxwell suffered a serious leg injury on his birthday that kept him from playing any form of cricket for at most 3 months.

International commitments will also mean that Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lankan all-rounder, is likely to miss the first few matches. His absence is a concern as he is the main spin-bowling option for them and will be.
